Who we are
Credo Umeå is a Christian student organization at Umeå university, part of the national organization Credo. We welcome Christians from all backgrounds and denominations, as well as anyone interested in questions relating to God and faith. We are happy to interpret all of our activities into English for international students.
We meet every Tuesday evening on campus and also offer regular activities on other times and locations (see further information below). Frequently, we organize lunch hour lectures or other events, and head out among our fellow students to offer fika, pancakes, bibles or just conversation.
Every Tuesday at 19 Credo Umeå gathers on campus, usually in Tryggheten at the basement level of the Social Sciences building. Our activities range from student led Bible studies to lectures from pastors, missionaries or Credo employees, as well as baking, game nights and other activities. About once a month we meet at the Hospital Church to worship and pray together (in our program these Tuesdays are titled ”In the Presence of God”). We also have monthly cafés at the university, called Pondering Cafés, where a topic is introduced and we spend the evening discussing it together while having fika (which is an important part of most things we do).
Credo activities outside Tuesday nights:
Lunch Prayer – Mondays, 12:15-12:30 at the Student Chapel (next to the crossing from Universum to the Science building)
Floorball – Saturdays, 11:00-12:30, at Fridhemsgymnasiet
See our program page.
